I'd like to be able to connect to a localhost server I have running that uses the same protocols as VATSIM. In the server selection box I'd like an option to connect via IP. Does anyone know of a way to do this?

Not supported. vATIS can only be connected to VATSIM servers.

What’s your reasoning for wanting to do this?

Wanted to play on a small flight events server that I made with my friends. I've been trying to decompile the program for the past 15 minutes. But you used dotfuscate 🙂

Sorry if you find that offensive, I tried other ways like a custom proxy but this was the last thing that I could think of.

nvmd I created a piece of software that creates cached versions of the server name the same way vATIS does I then put them in the cache, disconnect from the internet, open vATIS, go on frequency, Reconnect to the internet and then connect to the custom server. ( I won't distribute the software )

Some of my friends are under 13 and aren't able to play on VatSIm so I created a system that emulates a vatsim server but is private.

It's no where near as good as vatsim's actual servers though
