John McMurdo Posted September 10, 2021 at 02:38 PM Posted September 10, 2021 at 02:38 PM Hi all, just finding my way around. Looking forward to getting up in the air, but at the same time a bit anxious, I keep telling myself "what is the worst that could happen?" I have about 320 hours on X-plane 11 flying various craft, and I think as long as I don't panic when ATC suddenly asks me to deviate from my plan, I will be fine! Alistair Thomson Posted September 10, 2021 at 05:01 PM Posted September 10, 2021 at 05:01 PM I'm sure you will be fine. One thing you could do is a what-if scenario: try to anticipate route-changes. These can happen particularly regarding the arrival runway, but sometimes ATC will try to help you by shortening your route, or may need you to change your route because of traffic considerations. You can practice that offline if you like, by "jumping ahead" in the waypoints list or deciding, late on, that your approach will not be to 27L as planned but 27R and try to handle that.
