Ross Carlson Posted October 2, 2021 at 08:17 PM Posted October 2, 2021 at 08:17 PM This is most likely due to a root SSL certificate that expired at the end of September. This affects any web site that uses an SSL security certificate provided by LetsEncrypt, which is a major SSL provider, and the one used by the vPilot web site. More details here: https://letsencrypt.org/docs/dst-root-ca-x3-expiration-september-2021/ Windows 7 is supposed to have an updated root certificate that replaces the one that expired. Perhaps your Windows 7 machine isn't receiving updates from Microsoft. Do you have updates disabled? Peter Kollár Posted October 2, 2021 at 10:07 PM Author Posted October 2, 2021 at 10:07 PM (edited) Thank you very much Ross, yes, I have disabled updates but solution of this problem is here: https://www.stephenwagner.com/2021/09/30/sophos-dst-root-ca-x3-expiration-problems-fix/ I installed ISRG Root X1 only and my problem for all aplications is fixed. Maybe it helps for somone with this problem. Edited October 2, 2021 at 10:18 PM by Peter Kollár
Ross Carlson Posted October 2, 2021 at 10:22 PM Posted October 2, 2021 at 10:22 PM Yes, that was to be my suggestion (manually installing the missing root certs) if you reported back that you had disabled updates. You're brave for running such an old O/S without updates. 😲 Developer: vPilot, VRC, vSTARS, vERAM, VAT-Spy Senior Controller, Boston Virtual ARTCC

George Soultanidis Posted October 12, 2021 at 01:16 AM Posted October 12, 2021 at 01:16 AM (edited) Hi all. I have this problem but I have windows 10. Does anybody else has the same problem? I tried to uninstall and install vpilot again. I get the same error, without vpilot loading. The only thing I have changed on my PC is to enable the TPM 2.0 that the stupid windows 11 need. I haven't installed windows 11. I have the same error in vpilot and vatspy. EDIT: I found the way to save it. There are specific rules at the webpage https://www.stephenwagner.com/2021/09/30/sophos-dst-root-ca-x3-expiration-problems-fix/ for windows 10. Patrick Hajjar Posted October 11, 2022 at 01:25 PM Posted October 11, 2022 at 01:25 PM (edited) Hi captains I’m also having issues with connecting to the voice server. I get an error message saying “Error connecting to voice server. The underline connection was closed. Could not establish trust relationship for the SSL/TLS secure channel”. I tried running as admin, reinstalling vpilot, disabling it through firewall, installed ISRG Root X1 and RootX2 and still it dosen’t work. Does anyone know what the solution may be? I have a windows 7 (also haven’t updated it for a while). Edited October 11, 2022 at 03:54 PM by Patrick Hajjar Disregard what I wrote problem solved 😉
