Tower cleared me to line up and wait behind departing aircraft. That aircraft was holding at Alpha some 50 meters further down before he proceeded onto the runway and waited stationary for final clearance. My question is as he was so far away is it permissible to move onto the runway behind him or should I wait at the holding point until he had actually started his take off roll?
