error on start up

every time i go to lauch it i get a config error. it say to reinstall i have done that and click the make new config file option. did not work. same for audio for vatsim have to lauch it as admin to fix.

only way to fix is to lauch it as admin. is there another way.

The vstars application data folder does not exitst! please reinstall vstars.

that does not fix it for me. neither does the checkbox when installing only running as admin fixes it for me.

When you run it as admin, do you have to enter the credentials for a user with admin privileges on your system?

That's why ... vSTARS stores its configuration data in user-specific folders. So when you installed it as the admin user, you also have to run it as the same admin user.

Yeah, Windows has a very annoying "feature" where if you install an application as an admin, and you enter the credentials for a different user, the application installer runs as though you were logged in as that user and thus it stores the application's data files in that user's personal file area. Then, when you run the application later as a regular user, it can't find the files, because the files are in the other user's personal file area. So if you run the application as an admin, and enter the credentials of the same user that you used to install the application in the first place, it works fine.

when logged in as a standard user it askes for admin to install enter creds. then nav to standered user.

could it be that i installed in a custom dir.

miss spoke ealear when i run it as a standard user i get that error. but if i right click then run as admin and enter creds then it runs.

got it to run as a standard usr.

had to go to admin appdata/roaming

copy vstarts and put it in my standrd usr.

if anyone asks.
