Flight plan won't load

I have installed the latest update v2.0.0 beta 19. I can connect to server but can't load a flp as usual by using the "FLIGHT PLAN" tab.

When using this tab, it opens the vatsim flightplan page with blanks everywhere. I tried to fill the blanks and file the flp in this window with the existing tab but it does not appeared to file to the xpilot network.

Help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance.

Did you get any error message? Can you show a screenshot of what you tried to file? Is it possible you didn't fill out all the required fields marked with *? Or that you tried to file it while already moving on the ground or in the air?

No error message

I was at the gate

Just want to indicate that in the past, when using the tab "FLIGHT PLAN" in xPilot, I was not redirected to Vatsim flp page but to a xPilot page where I could load the flp build in STKP(Which is connected to Simbrief) and after that file this flp with a Tab in the bottom left of this xPilot page

Yes, this has changed and from now on we won't be able to file FP through the pilot clients.

I notice your callsign is just ACA, without any numbers. It should also contain some numbers. Also if you filed one callsign and tried to connect with another one, it wouldn't match with your FP and it would look like you have none.

The FP has been filed but it looks like it's another user (?). You should have received a "callsign in use" error when trying to file. Or if it's you, we are having a mix-up with the names because CID 1521150 is showing as Norm Roy on the VATSIM stats page.

Actually, did you log in as ACA127? As I said, that's why your FP isn't associated with your callsign. And as I also said, there's a mixup with the names. Oops.

I suggest you file your flight plan before logging in Vatsim on xPilot.

Ok, but filing FPL while logged in may still cause issues.

Only if you're moving, from what I've heard. Haven't tried it myself. If you're at the gate it should be ok.

Dace; my callsign is ACA127, my name is Michel Giasson but using Norm Roy when logging on the client because it is related to my deceased parents that showed me how a flight simulator worked.

So,  sorry for the confusion and I am not sure anymore if I can keep my vatsim name as Norm Roy? Do not hesitate to make a recommendation!

I have one question for you; how can I know that my flightplan was submitted? I do not see any confirmation on the vatsim page on on the xPilot page as before.

Lauri; I am not very familiar with Vatsim and wondering what exactly you mean by "I  suggest you file your flight plan before logging in Vatsim on xPilot."Does it mean that I should access the vatsim flp page and file the flp before opening xPilot or does it mean that I should prefile from Simbrief?

I'm not sure if the webpage gives you a message that the FP was filed successfully as I've only used it once today and I don't remember. However you can see in my screenshot of vatspy that the FP was submitted for callsign ACA (see the selected row). Now if you want to fly as ACA127, you have to refile it with the correct callsign.

As for your name, you'll have to sort it out with Membership Department. They may ask you a proof of your real name, as using anything else except your real name is not allowed.

Either way and it should be filed ok. Then login using xpilot. Less hassle.

Michel,

No, you may not connect as "Norm Roy".  Just another gentle reminder that these are the name conventions you are allowed to connect to VATSIM with.

From the VATSIM Code of Conduct:

A4(b) - Members shall connect to VATSIM using only one of the following name conventions:

  (1) Their real, FULL NAME (ie Joseph Smith), as registered.
  (2) An appropriate shortening of their given name, followed by their surname (ie Joe Smith).
  (3) Their real given name. (ie Joseph).
  (4) An appropriate shortening of their given name (ie Joe).
  (5) Their certificate ID number.

Indeed it does, but it only appears briefly and disappears.
