I am curious how others find valid flight numbers for a particular route.  I usually just do a search along the lines of "flights london to madrid" and go through the many results from the various comparison sites that pop up It would be great if there was a website which listed domestic flights and just some basic details though.

Easy for flights either departing from or arriving in the USA.  https://flightaware.com/live/findflight/XXXX/YYYY  and replace XXXX with your departure airport, and YYYY with your arrival airport.

Is there really a such thing as a "valid flight number"? If you mean a real flight then that is a different thing.

STKP - SimToolKitPro is a great resource for this. It does hold a database from pre-COVID times (2019, I think) and you can search for city-pairs, flight numbers etc..

Otherwise FlightStats is a great resource as well. I would guess that it will show you the same information as FlightAware, but the user interface may be a bit nicer? https://www.flightstats.com/v2/flight-tracker/search

in general i put the registration of any aircraft in my fleet into flight aware or fr24 and go with whatever flights the aircraft has been doing lately

if you want to browse by airline theres a slightly hidden set of pages on fr24 that show entire airlines route structure on a clickable map for the coming week showing flight numbers and equipment, eg:

https://www.flightradar24.com/data/airlines/aa-aal/routes

yea like https://flightaware.com/live/flight/N595JB

i prefer flightaware because in the settings you can set icao airport codes to display.. fr24 has basically the same thing but you only see iata which is annoying to me

Mouse over the code gives you the ICAO code as well, and airport name
