Reporting of Flight Incident

Hi Vatsim staff, and everyone!

I would like to know how to file a Flight Incident Report.

About 1627Z I was landing as planned at SBRJ Santos Dumont Airport. The airport had no ATC at that time, so I used UNICOM. After announcing my short final RW02R and touched down, another aircraft was comming in an attempt to land or to do low pass. I heard no radio transmition. I can't affirm that my radio was working well at that particular moment, but I don't have any reasonable reason to affirm the opposite. I used text minutes before. The user disconnected before I could take a capture.

I did't take any capture of this incident (silly of me), but I'll be prepared next time .

Should a similar event happend in the future, I would like to know how to file a Flight Incident Report and what information would be needed.

Thanks.
Fly safe!

Hi Anibal,

there's nothing like a report for such cases. If you feel that someone is doing this to you on purpose, try to raise the attention of a supervisor while you are connected. In your pilot client type .wallop YOURTEXT (mention your location and a short description of the situation) in the text-field; all supervisors that are connected at that time will receive your request for help.

The nice thing about flying on VATSIM is that there are others pilots and ATC, otherwise you’d be better off not online IMHO.

As in the real world, we attempt to replicate “separation standards” to ensure ‘safety’ online.

The CoC says that you cannot impact the enjoyment of others (not a direct quote), but that does not mean that your enjoyment means you apply your own standards and rules.

Please consider that others are not out to make your flight less than enjoyable.

Vertical separation at cruise can be 1000’.  It regularly happens that with the wrong aircraft settings, variations in weather, etc that people doing the ‘right thing’ can appear to be doing less than perfect in our eyes.  This is something that IMHO we need to accept.

Anyway, I’m sure the usual members will give you authorities guidance.

or open a support ticket at my.vatsim.net.  public naming and shaming is not appropriate.

I was about to land and someone jumped in front of me. Tower gave me a “go around”. I went around and landed safely and used that as an experience to go around. I keep life going and wasn't concerned about complaining.

If there is need to coordinate on Unicom, and the pilot does not respond,  you could try same comm via text on Unicom or even pm to the aircrafts call sign , tho that should not be needed as the pilot should be monitoring Unicom.  If no joy, as suggested above, use  .wallop to call a Supervisor and we will try to help.
