Marc Sieffert Posted March 30, 2022 at 05:32 PM Posted March 30, 2022 at 05:32 PM (edited) Hi, I used to fly a lot in Asia (especially Malaysia, Borneo, Philippines...) and I was wondering if it is only my perception or if the Vatsim activity, especially in terms of ATC activities, have strongly reduced. If yes what is the reason.... EDIT: For ex currently at 12.30 in Germany 7.30 PM in Asia, no one single ATC available... a few months ago we had plenty... Is there any special reason why ATC in Asia have vanished... Other platform...? Edited March 31, 2022 at 10:32 AM by Marc Sieffert
Board of Governors Anastasios Petros Stefopou Posted March 31, 2022 at 02:09 PM Board of Governors Posted March 31, 2022 at 02:09 PM This is a quite surprising post. There is regular daily ATC activity across APAC region. In specific, just to name a few, Malaysia, Singapore, Philipinnes and so many other FIRs are regularly having events too. Right now Singapore and Malaysia are online. Same as yesterday. Feel more than welcome to join us. 1 ANASTASIOS STEFOPOULOSVice President | Asia Pacific Region [email protected] https://www.vat-apac.comspecialists.vat-apac.com How to become a Supervisor? Marc Sieffert Posted March 31, 2022 at 06:20 PM Author Posted March 31, 2022 at 06:20 PM Thanks for your reply!! I usually use this VATSIM link to check if there are ATC available: VATSIM map (vau.aero) (https://vau.aero/fsmap/?va=vau) and I have not seen activities in the area of KL as in your picture above for a long long time...! Could there be a pb with this VATSIM MAP for ASIA? Could you perhaps check this? On my side I will compare VATSPY with this map in the next few days... and let you know -)
Marc Sieffert Posted March 31, 2022 at 07:13 PM Author Posted March 31, 2022 at 07:13 PM (edited) OK so it seems that the VATSIM live map with the link above VATSIM map (vau.aero) (https://vau.aero/fsmap/?va=vau) has a pb... Just now I saw on VATSPY following ATC activities: On the link above nothing: BUT the link is working well in Europe: I will refer of this problem to the general VATSIM page and see what can be done... Matt Bozwood-Davies Posted March 31, 2022 at 07:34 PM Posted March 31, 2022 at 07:34 PM If they are showing in VATSpy and the datafeed, it is a problem with the vau.aero map and as this is not a VATSIM official/recognised map, we have no control over it. I checked again and it seems that especially centers are not shown on vau aero (for Asia, for Europe they are shown...)... Meaning that people who are using this map might think no Controllers available although there are some and fly somewhere else... We should try to change this... But I don't know who to contact... If you have any idea please let me know... Edited April 2, 2022 at 08:51 AM by Marc Sieffert
