Tommy Rogers 971040 Posted January 19, 2007 at 06:26 PM Posted January 19, 2007 at 06:26 PM This is a Notice to Airmen: who fly in and out of Cleveland Hopkins: We now have available a simple scenery update for KCLE. It adds runway 24R/6L and the ILS systems for those runways, as well as updates the taxiways on the field. It is highly recommended that all FS9 pilots flying through KCLE download this file. It would also be helpful if you indicate in your Remarks that you have the "24R/6L." You should double check your simulator's records if you are not sure whether it has a runway 24R/6L at KCLE. If you know that you already have addon scenery that contains 24R/6L, please also indicate in your remarks that you have "24R/6L." FSX has this scenery by default, so the update is not necessary. Really helpful considering it is my hub; however you may want to check the file, when it downloads the file extension is removed, leaving it just "KCLE_Scenery" I know its a zip but I had to re-download to figure it out I1 - CZVR Help controllers maintain their sanity; file a correct equipment code http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Equipment_codes

We have yet to figure out why IE is handling the file as it is. Every other ZIP file on our website saves correctly in all browsers. I have tried in both Firefox and Netscape and had no problems. [if anyone should ask me, "Why don't you like Internet Explorer?" It's not because of all these petty differences in features and stuff; it's the fact that it uses a slightly different code engine than other browsers and requires special attention for HTML and CSS code.] I made this because the only other scenery that I know of for KCLE is Shez Ansari's...while it's a beautiful scenery, it's also hefty on the system resources. This is a simple update compared to that. Steve Ogrodowski
David Scobie 858274 Posted January 26, 2007 at 12:28 AM Posted January 26, 2007 at 12:28 AM thanks for this framerate friendly update of KCLE. but ... i find there are two radio towers just to the left of 24R, between taxiways S and G1. am i the only one? -- -- d. scobie simmer since FS1 for the MAC
Steve Ogrodowski 876322 Posted January 26, 2007 at 12:45 AM Posted January 26, 2007 at 12:45 AM Yes, that is how it's supposed to be. The towers should also be a little farther left, but I can't adjust that. By default, the towers are normally on the runway, not off to the side. James Waltz was able to adjust the towers just to the left of the runway (which is what allowed me to be able to release it). Anyone who has FSX will notice that the towers are in a similar position (although they are a little smaller). Steve Ogrodowski
