Hello. I am having trouble connecting to Vpilot. Keeps saying password is incorrect. I have had the same password for years.

any ideas guys?

Yep, I have an idea 😉      You changed your password on 02 Apr 2022, 08:58Z.  Use that one 🙂

Good day all good people,

From my side I am having enormous frustrating connection issues with vpilot to VATSIM. After vpilot installation I went through ALL the required steps, watched ALL relevant YouTube videos, only to observe many red lines on vpilot when i try to connect "Authentication failed: Password is Incorrect:

Is it possible please that I can be pushed in the right direction to solve this matter. My "wings" are going to slapped if I dont get up in the air soon.

From what you have posted here, it seems like you are entering the wrong password into vPilot and as Don points out, you changed your password on the 2nd of April. 

If you cannot remember your password, you can change on my.vatsim.net/profile - then in the right side, there should be a blue text saying "password reset". That should guide you through the password reset process. It may not work instantly after the password reset has been done, but give it some time to reach all the servers and databases and such 🙂

Good day Peter,

Reacting on your reply with respect to "incorrect password" messages from vpilot. Firstly, greetings to you Sir. Andre Blignaut, new member, having now this issue, entered the password, double checked the password, but no success. Rebooted the computer, activated "Swift", then the same massage appear. When logging into VATSIM with SID and password, no problem. I then can move easily around this beautiful platform. By close inspection in the text file of vpilot, I notice the message "Authentication failed: Password incorrect at dn.d.a(). I am not that computer literate to understand what it means. Maybe you can put some sunshine on that. Many thanks for this opportunity to comms with you.

Hello, Andre, and welcome!

I see that you have connected 11 times since your post, and were able to connect 17 minutes after your post.  Just to aid anyone in the future that may have a similar issue, can you share what resolved the problem?

Yes, the problem was the password. In the process of registering to this awesome family, you are issued with suggested first time passwords. These intelligent passwords contain "keyboard characters" that can be easily misinterpreted by any human (especially me). My red face 🙉 came after I realized my mistake, between the given characters and typed characters. The moral is: "Read and understand these highly intelligent password characters correctly, especially if you have to retype them over and over again".

I also want to take this opportunity to thank ALL that make this facility possible. This is so exiting. As a old simmer for over 30 years, this is above the clouds, and a new area is born for me.

Fantastic!  Yes, although the newer and longer passwords are good for security, they sometimes make me miss the good old simple days!  🙂
