Colin Taranovich Posted May 20, 2022 at 04:41 AM Posted May 20, 2022 at 04:41 AM (edited) Suppose I am arriving IFR into an airport with only a control tower and ground control operating. No approach control, no center. Do I just fly my STAR as normal and contact the tower when I’m about 10 miles out, or how does that work? Sorry if this is a silly question. Thanks in advance! Though check their ATIS for active runways. Tobias Dammers Posted May 20, 2022 at 01:53 PM Posted May 20, 2022 at 01:53 PM Also, if unsure, you can PM the controller to ask which runway they would like you to use. They will appreciate it much more than when you take a guess and guess wrong.
