Dennis Stanek
Hi Ross, I recently upgraded to FSX-SE and also installed MyTraffic Professional 6.0a. I had just FSX, and M/T would NOT run correctly, thus the reason to switch to FSX-SE. I looked in the aircraft folder, and it is full of aircraft. However, vPILOT does not recognize them in the scan. What am I doing wrong? Thank-you for your time, Dennis L Stanek
Ross Carlson
What do you mean when you say it doesn't recognize them? Developer: vPilot, VRC, vSTARS, vERAM, VAT-Spy Senior Controller, Boston Virtual ARTCC
Dennis Stanek
Ross, vPILOT does not give me the option to select the aircraft on the Model Matching/Advanced tab for MyTraffic Professional. It only scans "Sim Objects/Airplanes." I have un-installed and re-installed vPILOT, with the same results. I am hoping that you can help me solve this dilemma. I have read and re-read the instructions also. Dennis
Ross Carlson
Are you sure the MyTraffic aircraft aren't installed inside the SimObjects/Airplanes folder? Developer: vPilot, VRC, vSTARS, vERAM, VAT-Spy Senior Controller, Boston Virtual ARTCC
Dennis Stanek
Yes Ross. MyTraffic has it's own aircraft folder that has a HUGE ammount of aircraft located in it. I'll send you the MyTraffic" Aircraft folder so you can see. Dennis Well...CRAP! It won't allow me to attach this file. Trust me, it's HUGE! Is there any other file I can send you? Ross Carlson
If vPilot isn't finding it, then it's not configured properly as an add-on folder. vPilot searches all the SimObject paths listed in the FSX.cfg file. My guess is that your cfg file doesn't have the MT folder listed. I see that problem commonly when users have both FSX and FSX:SE installed. Dennis Stanek
I TOTALLY deleted FSX so it wouldn't interfere with FSX-SE. I'll see what I can do with the FSX_SE.cfg. Now, what should I be looking for? See if the cfg file is correct? Dennis
Ross Carlson
The MT installer should take care of adding the path for you, or provide instructions for doing it manually. The cfg file has a section containing paths where the sim looks for models, like this: Quote SimObjectPaths.0=SimObjects\Airplanes SimObjectPaths.1=SimObjects\Rotorcraft SimObjectPaths.2=SimObjects\GroundVehicles SimObjectPaths.3=SimObjects\Boats SimObjectPaths.4=SimObjects\Animals SimObjectPaths.5=SimObjects\Misc Ensure there is such a line pointing to the MT models. Dennis Stanek
Hi Ross, I *DID* get vPILOT working correcly by fixing the FSX.cfg file! It scans over 5,100 models now! THANK YOU so much for your help. Dennis
