Text cursor impedes macros

Hi, I have vpilot on a client pc as remote voice, the host is on my server where I have p3d.  I have a few keysends coming from the server to the client (via FSUIPC/wideclient), for example to change voice output from headphones to speakers on the client.  If I press SPKR button in the sim (connected to server), it sends a keysend to the client, for example CTRL+T, to change from headphones to speakers.

I discovered that this stops working with vpilot, because vpilot (if you click on it) always has a flashing cursor ready for text input.  Only if you clear your whole desktop and then click outside of vpilot, then the keysend will work.

So given I never use text in vpilot, I use 100% voice, can there be an option to select "text off" and therefore get rid of the flashing text cursor, so that keysends will work?

Rgds

I'm afraid I have to decline to add such a feature. This is such a niche "problem" that it's not worth me building a workaround into vPilot.

Pity because it's a pretty bad problem, every time I go to press a button in the cockpit, I have to firstly stop the cursor flash, it is very unrealistic

It's not a vPilot problem, though. You would have this problem with any application that has focus and accepts keyboard input. vPilot isn't doing anything special to capture all keystrokes on the system.

Ok, I'll have to see if I can find a workaround

Thx for all the prompt responses and, as ever, very grateful for vpilot

Can you not use the client keyboard? I have a similar situation and in my case I bought a cheap flexible keyboard, stripped out the decoder/USB module and hooked a couple of switches to the connections, mounted on a small box. Takes up no space and works well.

Thanks Alistair, no I tried that, using a keyboard on the client, but it is the same issue, the type will come out on vpilot, it has precedence over a macro going to my other program
