Hi all,

I've got an issue with blurred runway lighting. I've looked everywhere but can't find any answers. I'm running FS2004 on a Nvidia 8800 GTX if that helps ?????

Basically all the runway lighting for all airports looks about 300% bigger and blures really badly. I've tried changing FS display setting but no luck, updated the graphics card driver but no luck again.

Can anyone offer any suggestions except don't fly at night!!

Manyt thanks !!!

Chris

The easiest solution would be to download a halo.bmp replacement from avsim.net or any of the popular flight sim sites. This file comes with detailed instructions on how to setup your fs9.cfg: http://library.avsim.net/download.php?DLID=37697

I use FSX and I don't know if this will be any help but, try going into your setting and under the graphics tab and make sure you unclick,"light bloom" this should stop the glare of most lights, but then again this is with FSX.

Chris,

Are you by any chance using a Widescreen for your display? If yes, then this is what is causing your blurry lights.

There is a setting in the FS9 and FSX config file to scale these lights down. Not sure of the setting right now, but a Google search for runway scalar should give you the information.

If your Taxiway lights are still blurry after this, you need a modified Halo.bmp, as suggested above, as the taxiway lights are not effected by the scalar settings. I have a modified Halo.bmp that i made myself, as i don't like the star effect in most of the halo.bmp's i found online. If you want mine, just PM me and i will send it to your e-mail address.

Let me know.

Ben
