VATSIM Virtual Airlines Developer Vacancy

The VATSIM Virtual Airline Department is expanding its roster, and is looking for dedicated individuals who have the time and enthusiasm to give back to the network.

VA Developers are responsible for maintaining and developing the VATSIM Virtual Airline Department's backend and frontend systems, and ensuring our tools are operational at all times.

Responsibilities include:

1. Maintaining and developing the new and improved Virtual Airlines Dashboard.
2. Developing and maintaining tools for both internal use of the department and Virtual Airlines. 
3. Aiding the Vice President of Virtual Airlines and Special Operations, Director of Virtual Airlines and the Lead Developer with any special projects.
4. Reporting to the Vice President of Virtual Airlines and Special Operations, Director of Virtual Airlines and the Lead Developer.

 

Some requirements are present for this position, in order to ensure competency as well as safety regarding VATSIM rules and regulations.
These are as follows;

• Be 18 years of age or older, without exception;
• Have at least 2 years of VATSIM membership and at least 150 hours connected;
• Be fluent in English;
• Have no serious disciplinary history for at least two years prior to your application;
• Have expanded experience with php Frameworks, preferably Laravel;
• Have expanded experience with HTML and CSS;
• Be familiar with VueJS and/or similar Javascript Frameworks;
• Preferably Be familiar with CI/CD; (optional)
• Preferably have UI design and layout experience; (optional)
• Preferably be experienced with C#. (optional)
• Link your GitHub and/or have a portfolio of projects you can talk about during the interview.
