Ross Carlson Posted August 25, 2022 at 05:00 PM Posted August 25, 2022 at 05:00 PM Usually that's caused by failure to connect to the VATSIM authentication server. Usually restarting your PC and/or your router fixes it. Stephan Ricci Posted August 29, 2022 at 05:51 PM Author Posted August 29, 2022 at 05:51 PM (edited) Hello Ross Thank you very much for the professionell support. I did deactivate IPv6 and now I can connect. But finally I would like to know why this happens, because so many years did work with IPv6 activated. Just curios. Ross Carlson Posted August 29, 2022 at 07:11 PM Posted August 29, 2022 at 07:11 PM All VATSIM client software is being moved to a new authentication system, and vPilot switched to it with version 3. The new system works over both IPv4 and IPv6, but some people have had problems where their computer tries to connect over IPv6 and it fails. I don't know what causes it, could be a misconfiguration with your router, or even your ISP. Disabling IPv6 on your computer works around the problem by preventing vPilot from trying to make the authentication connection over IPv6 in the first place.
