Martin Nesuta Posted August 29, 2022 at 02:11 PM Posted August 29, 2022 at 02:11 PM Hi, I would like to ask, how I'm gonna make my MCDU in A320neo return to default flight plan, after I fly through the direct waypoint that was given from ATC to me. Is MCDU supposed to do this automatically? Or should I do something to return to my flightplan? Thanks a lot.
Lauri Uusitalo Posted August 31, 2022 at 07:36 AM Posted August 31, 2022 at 07:36 AM If the direct waypoint was not on your flight plan how would it know which waypoint it should take next from your flight plan? That is why the plane continues in HDG mode. Easiest is probably fly another direct to a waypoint on your flight plan, if instructed by the ATC ("continue on own navigation" or similar). Trevor Hannant Posted August 31, 2022 at 05:18 PM Posted August 31, 2022 at 05:18 PM ATC should be giving you a waypoint that's further down the line in your planned route. If they're not and they give you somewhere random, ask where you should route after that point. If you're sent to a point that is in your plan, the aircraft will simply go direct there then fly the next segment as defined in your FMC.
