Newbie XP12+Xpilot does not show other aircraft in the Sim

Hi there,

First of all, I am new to VATSIM so forgive me my noob questions 😉

So, I got my VATSIM profile ready, passed the test and got my ID ready. I got my callsign that is confirmed working (it shows up on Xpilot) XX1234 with a B738

I typed my ID + PW in Xpilot, did a setting configuration + downloaded the CSL files into the correct directory (checked twice). Console in Xpilot does not show errors.

I tried using observer mode as I am quite new to this but now when I start on a frequently used airport like JFK, I cannot see any other aircraft. Is this normal or am I missing something?
