Paul O'Donnell 969350 Posted January 31, 2007 at 08:30 PM Posted January 31, 2007 at 08:30 PM An alias file is a file for controller that enables them to enter a command and the key information, and it will generate the full phraseology. I have just finished creating an alias file for controlling at Singapore Changi. It saves abit of time for text pilots. such as I have an alias command for approach. so if i type .app 8 left 040 4000 02L it would generate, "8 miles from the outermarker, turn left heading 040, maintain 4000ft until established on the localiser, cleared ILS Runway 02L approach." I [Mod - Happy Thoughts]ume you're asking because you get the alias unable to load, or something along those lines, error when loading VRC. That's nothing to worry about. Paul O'Donnell 969350 Posted January 31, 2007 at 09:46 PM Posted January 31, 2007 at 09:46 PM Hi Chris, you can download them at the ACC/ARTCC/FIR websites. I see that you are in the UK, from the location in your profile. You can find an alias file for Manchester and London on the VATSIM-UK website. http://www.vatsim-uk.org/downloads/index.php or if you are feeling lazy, here's the hotlink Regards, Paul O'Donnell SINvACC - INS/CTR+ www.sinvacc.net
