Karl Sawatzky Posted February 9, 2023 at 02:18 AM Posted February 9, 2023 at 02:18 AM (edited) Hello! I have entered " *1/8 IN DRY SNOW" into my ATIS string, hoping that it would be pronounced as "ONE EIGHTH INCH DRY SNOW", but instead it is being pronounced as " ZERO ONE ZERO EIGHT INCH DRY SNOW". I manually entered a custom contraction as "1/8" to be pronounced as "ONE EIGHTH", but that is not the result that I am getting. Any ideas on how to correct this? Thank you! Martin Loxbo Posted February 11, 2023 at 01:39 PM Posted February 11, 2023 at 01:39 PM I've noticed some strange pronunciation of numbers as well: 5 5 5 (for surface condition) is pronounced "zero five zero five zero five". 555, however, is "five five five". It seems this goes for all single digits that it attaches a zero before the number. CAT 2 OR CAT 3 is read out as "cat zero two or cat three" whereas "CAT2 OR CAT 3" is pronounced as "C A T T W O or cat three". It seems that "CAT 3" is a phrase that it understands to pronounce correctly but CAT 2 isn't. I tried adding CAT2 = CAT TWO as a contraption, but I couldn't get it to work. It still says C A T T W O all as individual letters in this case. Would be great if these little quirks could be fixed!
