FSX - Is it worth upgrading the graphics card for it?

Hi, I have been quite happy with my little Dell with a radeon x300 card which tootled along quite happily with FS9. When FSX showed up though its a new kettle of fish. The Image quality isnt that good and its VERY stuttery. I tracked down PCPILOT articles which lead me to the graphics card . My problem is this - My radeon x300 obviously isnt good enough anymore. Do I a) upgrade the graphics card to the radeon x1650 which is better than i have and requires no other alteration, or do I

b) upgrade the card to the radeon x1950 which will also require the psu to be upgraded to a 500watt psu.

The aritcles say go to the best affordable - even cutting back in certain areas as the card is all important. I just wanted to ask people with more experience than me as i've never upgraded anything before.

Please help ....
