IVAO Transfer Policy

Since VATUSA does not recognize ratings issued by the IVAO network, any current IVAO or former IVAO member requesting [Mod - Happy Thoughts]ignment in the VATUSA Division will be handled as any other new Division member. This means they will be required to undergo basic ATC training at the VATUSA ATC Academy prior to joining an ARTCC. However, IVAO members with a Student3 rating or higher are eligible to accelerate their training by performing an Over the Shoulder test via Sweatbox with an Academy instructor and by completing the Academy Final exam via the VATUSA Certification Center. From there, the member will be promoted to the Senior Student rating and will be asked to choose an ARTCC to be [Mod - Happy Thoughts]igned to. This can be accomplished by contacting a member of the training department. Current IVAO or former IVAO members with a rating lower than Senior Student will be required to complete the ATC Training Academy in full before being allowed to select an ARTCC to control at.

New Member Enrollment: Members who joined VATUSA on or after April 17th 2006 who wish to become ATC are required to enroll into the Division Training Academy, regardless of real-world training. There is no byp[Mod - Happy Thoughts] system in place and no exceptions will be made. Complete and submit the enrollment application located at http://vatusa.org/training/academy_enroll.html Once your application has been received and approved you will be notified by email that you have been signed up to take the ATC Academy Entrance exam at the VATUSA Certification Center. P[Mod - Happy Thoughts]ing this exam with an 80% or higher is required before the enrollment process can be finalized.

Why is it that if I transfer from IVAO, I am allowed to "fast-track" my training, but if I am a a real world controller, I am not allowed to fast track my training?

I am confused, does VATUSA have something against real life Air Traffic Controllers? I certainly would think that since VATUSA wants to be as realistic as they can that these REAL controllers would be a huge benefit, not the detriment as implied by discounting their real life experiences, let alone their real life training.

Confused,

Jason Vodnansky

Doesn't sound like fast tracking to me. If they have S3 at IVAO and can p[Mod - Happy Thoughts] the written and OTS at VATSIM for Sr. Student they get to keep it. If not, they go to the beginning.

As for real world controllers. You can thank all the imposters and forgers out there for the end of that practice.
