Michael Benson Posted February 24, 2007 at 12:50 PM Posted February 24, 2007 at 12:50 PM Hello, Just wondering if there are any real world dutch pilots who can help me with a flight planing query? The company I work for is picking up a HR20 (Robin200) from Sweeden and flying it back to the UK transiting through Dutch airspace. One of the airports they will be stopping off at will be Groningen getting there IFR via the G10 airway. Then this is where the query comes in. They would like to continue to the UK via FLEVO, SUSET and HELEN direction, however there are no low airways availble at the level they will be transiting (between 4000 and 6000ft). Therefore could you please let me know if it is possible for them to: 1) Route direct FLEVO SUSET LARAS HELEN, IFR at the above levels? 2) Route direct FLEVO SUSET LARAS HELEN, VFR at the above levels? Or if you have a better idea let me know. While I appriciate 'sim' pilots trying to help we really do require real world knowledge of the airspace and procedures Thanks Michael Benson Importer and Exporter of aluminium tubing from Slough Intl
Martin Loxbo Posted February 27, 2007 at 09:58 AM Posted February 27, 2007 at 09:58 AM Have you checked AIP Netherlands? If that didn't help, have you talked to AIS Netherlands (http://www.ais-netherlands.nl)? Krzysztof Szerszen 861225 Posted February 27, 2007 at 10:59 AM Posted February 27, 2007 at 10:59 AM I dont know whether ATC from another region applies, but: 1. If it is in controlled airspace, your best shot is to call AIS Ned as Martin said. Technically waypoints belong to airways and do not exist below airways, but usually there is some leniency here in accepting flightplans. 2. If it is below controlled airspace, there shouldnt be any problem with filing that flightplan. Realistic ultra-intolerant.
Martin Georg 811874 Posted February 27, 2007 at 11:10 AM Posted February 27, 2007 at 11:10 AM Well, G10 is not a good idea, as in westbound direction it ends at SPY VOR. Lowest possible airway departing from the EEL VOR would be R1 with a MEA of 8.000ft, continued after PAM via L980 with a MEA of 6.000ft (but EHAM TMA has a MEA of 10.000ft for overflights). Routing via SUSET-Z310 would be no good idea either (Z310 starts at SUSET, and has a MEA of 11.000ft, perhaps too high for your aircraft). As I can see, EHAM TMA blocks you anyway, so you would need a crossing clearance. Well, that´s something up for the local experts. best regards, Martin Georg

Jochem Berends 835842 Posted March 13, 2007 at 08:23 AM Posted March 13, 2007 at 08:23 AM Low flights (below FL095) may file VOR to VOR navigation. Especially helicopters. On what FL are you intending to fly? The information in the AIP (ENR3.1) considering the routing altitude restrictions may give you clue to what is possible. We call everything high above FL195 and low below that. Also the IFPUV from eurocontrol can be used to validate your routings.
