Craig Moulton Posted February 28, 2007 at 05:01 PM Posted February 28, 2007 at 05:01 PM Just a reminder to everyone that this Friday ZHU (Houston) will be hosting VATUSA's Friday Night OPS (FNO). Houston will be focusing its resources on KIAH. Everyone is invited to participate, and it is up to you to decide from where you wish to fly. You can choose to fly into KIAH, out, or both! The Event "officially" starts at 0100Z through 0300Z (which is technically Saturday in terms of Zulu time, but for the U.S. it is Friday night of course!). I believe ZHU will be staffing an hour early, so that you can expect full service between 0000Z and 0300Z. If you can't decide upon a route to fly, you can visit the FNO website (http://fno.vatusa.org) and find 6 "canned" routes already planned out for you including a detailed Navigation Log, links to Pre-File online, charts, scenery and more. The featured routes this week depart from ATL, BNA, ELP, MCO, SLC, and STL. ATC will be out in force to ensure a smooth ride, and we'd like to invite you to invite your friends and fellow Virtual Airline Pilots to come on out and give it a try! Don't be shy! ATC is patient and friendly! The only thing you may need to worry about is having enough fuel to comply with any holds that may be issued for the amount of traffic that is expected! Remember that IAH has a new Runway that is not depicted in FS9, so if you'd like, you can get a scenery add-on that will include this runway. That file is available at the Houston ARTCC Website, and is linked through the FNO website! We look forward to seeing you! Fly Safe! Have Fun!
