Activesky & payware q

Hi all, I'm looking to blow a little money on some payware. I've only bought so far FSNav and the PMDG 1900D (price is right especially on the latter) which have been great. Activesky is my next natural inclination, because I'd use it on every flight, and everyone seems to rave about it. Since it allows precipitation to show up while on VATSIM, I'm tempted to buy it for that alone.

But, I was wondering if it also allows for winds aloft while on VATSIM, since that's noticeably missing (and I couldnt find a forum post on that).

My only other thought is that I would enjoy the Captain Sim 757, since that's my aircraft of choice, but I feel like Activesky, while more expensive, is better just because of its constant use.

Any answers/thoughts/suggestions are much appreciated!

Cheers, Brad

Not to downgrade AS but I would first give the pilot client FSInn a shot. It allows precipitation and also gives great weather in flight. The best part is it is free just like SB3. Worst case if it is not what you are looking for you always have the other option. I personally have always been very very happy with the FSInn weather.

I have been using Active Sky since Version 5 ( now at 6.5 ) AS stated above once you try it you'll wonder how you got along without it. I haven't used FSinn so I can't cmpare that. One thing I will say is that I have never used ANY software that has the Product Support that ACtive Sky does. If other companies provided half the level that those guys do they would be doing good. They literally have the best Suuport I have ever found anywhere BAR NONE. FSinn may be good but if you have any questions I would think you only recourse would be other users.

In any case I wouldn't hesitate to make it your next purchase. As for their support forum just read through and you'll see many comments by users as to what they think about ACtive Sky AND the support. Here's a link

Hope that helps

I never fly without it. It even simulates wake turbulence.

From a new AS user (less than a week): It's a Tivo to FSInn's VCR.
