John White 828331 Posted March 22, 2007 at 11:24 AM Posted March 22, 2007 at 11:24 AM I am a long time very experienced online flyer but have hit a new problem today. I fly with friends every week and we can see each other and chat no problems.....however today when flying, they could see my a/c and talk OK but I could not see theirs....this being on SBox. I tried FSInn with same result. Now when I log on to SBox...it comes up OK...then I hit the 'connect' button....then up comes the "Connecting to Multiplayer session via Lobby"...and that just sits there, does not fade away as it usually does. Yet strangely I can see myself as online in ServInfo but I cannot see any other a/c at a busy airport like Sydney. I even see the Controller's frquencies in the SB panel. Tried it in FSInn and again same result. Totally baffled.
Lennart Vedin Posted March 22, 2007 at 12:22 PM Posted March 22, 2007 at 12:22 PM To see other traffic, MSFS do use Multiplayer TCP/IP connection, while other interfaces ( include transfering your position to VATSIM) SB3 do use FSUIPC-memory map interface, and FSInn use "Copilot-interface". SB3 to FS TCP/IP connection are performed by connect to local machine IP 127.0.0.1 . The connection may been blocked due to antivirus/firewall block. Make sure use FS in Window mode (not full screen) during the problem, so you see if firewall is display any message. Some people say a router can cause the problem, i not understand how but i say connect to internet without router to verify if problem is in router. You may try configure the antivirus/firewall or even uninstall to just try if antivirus cause the problem. Make sure you have router firewall or XP built in firewall , do never connect to internet without firewall. Also check the Multiplayer connection to Squawkbox inside FS ( search forum, Norman Blackburn have write how to verify and how to handle if connection are failing). / Lennart Vedin /
