Andrew Templeton 1004354 Posted April 3, 2007 at 07:15 PM Posted April 3, 2007 at 07:15 PM I am a new pilot on Vasim and I am getting used to flying IFR. I was making I flight plan just through fs2004 which I realise is wrong as I confuse the ATC when I send the flight plan because I just copy the route in the GPS. I was wondering if anyone could tell me how to fill in the ROUTE when it comes to the flight plan because I am really lost! I really don't know how to put in VOR's (I think), and in what order. I was also wondering then how would you put them, then into the GPS. Thanks, Andrew
Scott Smith 921136 Posted April 3, 2007 at 08:02 PM Posted April 3, 2007 at 08:02 PM Hi Andrew, You should use either FSnavigation (www.fsnavigator.com) or try www.vroute.info Scott
Andrew Templeton 1004354 Posted April 3, 2007 at 11:33 PM Author Posted April 3, 2007 at 11:33 PM Thanks Scott for the reply. Some reason I had problems when trying to install vroute when it says downloading 1 of 1 file. Anyway I will keep trying. Thanks again, Andrew
Henning Huelsebusch 884548 Posted April 4, 2007 at 05:17 AM Posted April 4, 2007 at 05:17 AM (edited) For routes from and to Switzerland, Austria, Germany and Egypt, you may use http://www.vatroute.net to get valid routings. If you need a good freeware flight management system (FMS) to fly your flightplan, have a look at vasFMC ( http://vas-project.org/ ) Good luck and happy landings on VATSIM!
