Michal Rok Posted April 6, 2007 at 08:13 PM Posted April 6, 2007 at 08:13 PM The map view of KZOA was finally fixed - there was a problem with some airspace covering KZAK (Oceanic) being [Mod - Happy Thoughts]igned to KZOA (domestic), and that's why the map didn't work right and OAK_CTR would light up entire Pacific Ocean. Now it should be OK - however, it might take up to 2 days for all local caches to refresh, so if you can't wait then purge your IE cache. Wayne Conrad 989233 Posted April 7, 2007 at 12:12 AM Posted April 7, 2007 at 12:12 AM Quick question: As I understand it, the map isn't zoomable. So what I see in the image you posted is a programmer's view of the map that I can't get, right? I've only ever gotten it to show me a zoomed-out view, where boundary differences like that are too small to be discernable. Steve Park 822521 Posted April 7, 2007 at 02:12 AM Posted April 7, 2007 at 02:12 AM Not zoomable, but if you go to the Online section, then click on KZOA in the list, then select FIR from the MAP view at the top and you will see this view. Wayne Conrad 989233 Posted April 7, 2007 at 02:30 AM Posted April 7, 2007 at 02:30 AM Ah, it's Noun-Verb, not Verb-Noun. That made all the difference. Thanks! David Saunders 818672 Posted April 7, 2007 at 07:14 AM Posted April 7, 2007 at 07:14 AM I hope this feature to break down to FIR view for the UK can be implemented, at the moment all we see is the whole UK, this could be broken down into EGTT_S_CTR EGTT_N_CTR EGTT_W_CTR LON_NW_CTR LON_NE_CTR LON_SW_CTR LON_SE_CTR MAN_W_CTR MAN_E_CTR EGPX_CTR this is why pilots find it so difficult to determine what CTR to call , because there are so many and they get bandboxed depending on traffic levels. Plus this would be helpful to controllers, at the moment all arrivals into the UK show up on 1 page which is no use. http://img370.imageshack.us/img370/8091/ltcczm2.jpg non-discript self importance signature
Michal Rok Posted April 7, 2007 at 07:49 AM Author Posted April 7, 2007 at 07:49 AM There's already a break down for FIRs in the UK. Just need to press the little "plus" next to "United Kingdom" on the list. MIchal vroute.net founder
Norman Blackburn Posted April 7, 2007 at 08:38 AM Posted April 7, 2007 at 08:38 AM Michal, I think what is meant is that no matter which LON sector is staffed, the whole area shows lit. Another one to add is SCO_CTR which covers only the Scottish TMA rather than the whole FIR. I dont have any link to show this but no doubt somebody will provide one. Edit to add that this, being a non ICAO standard callsign of course isn't yet recognised by vRoute. Norman
Michal Rok Posted April 7, 2007 at 01:56 PM Author Posted April 7, 2007 at 01:56 PM As far as I was told, whichever LON_CTR shows up, they initially take the entire airspace and then split it among other LON_CTRs online. With SCO_CTR it must be a mistake - should be just the Scottish TMA. Are you sure this is a current problem? I just tested it and it worked fine for me.
