You might find reading the PRC (Pilot Resource Centre) pretty useful as it explains many things.

To fly on VATSIM with FSX, you will need the program "FSInn", which can be found here: http://vatsim.net/links/links31.html

for FSInn, you will need to install "copilot" first, this can be found on the MCDU website (same website as FSInn).

 

I would recommend reading the PRC (Pilot Resource Centre/Center) as this will most likely explain several questions you are probably thinking.

It's mostly all explained in the PRC.

 

This should explain how to set up FSInn. To talk to ATC you will need to [Mod - Happy Thoughts]ign a PTT (Push To Talk) key, and you can press and hold whilst connected to communicate with ATC.
