The XP folks say use xsquawkbox but that does'nt seem to load as a plugin? should it? Your help would be appreciated.

You have to copy the xsquawkbox-folder into you x-plane-pluginfolder (should be ..\X-Plane 8.xx\Resources\plugins) if it's copied there it should load on next startup.
