paul westcott Posted April 20, 2007 at 11:16 PM Posted April 20, 2007 at 11:16 PM i knew i seen this before somewhere, now ive found it again, Note that VRC just creates the multiplayer session and fills it with the aircraft that you see on your scope. It's up to you to configure FS9 with an appropriate viewpoint of the airport. A good way to do this is to modify the aircraft.cfg file for an aircraft that you never fly, such as the default C182 or C172. Within that file you'll find a setting called eyepoint. Set the last value on that line to an appropriate height for your tower. how can i get to this file so i can modify it the way i need to? ive done a search and cant locate it. can anyone help? thanks paul

David Saunders 818672 Posted April 21, 2007 at 06:19 AM Posted April 21, 2007 at 06:19 AM go to your FS 9 director ie: C:/PROGRAMFILES/MICROSOFT GAMES/FS9/AIRCRAFT/C182 there you will find the C182 folder with files, and the one you want is aircraft.cfg. search for views and then adjust as stated with the vrc manual, changing the height will depend on what airport your setting it up for non-discript self importance signature

Paul O'Donnell 969350 Posted April 21, 2007 at 02:20 PM Posted April 21, 2007 at 02:20 PM If you still need to edit your .cfg file, I'd recommend this little number. I'm not too great with technical things, and I didn;t want to edit one of my aircraft configuration files incase i made a dogs dinner of it. So I used ATC Tower Viewer. Just need to load it up like you would do an aircraft and then slew it into position (where the Tower is at the airport) then connect up to the multiplayer game. http://www.flightsim.com/cgi/kdl/main/58/atctower.zip?jJaaA06a I think you will need to sign up, but its free. I didn;t want to edit my cfg files coz i sometimes like flying the C172 C182. Although I've messed up my C172 with FS2Crew. So i cant use it anymore without reinstalling.
