Hi

My problem is, that for some reason I can connect to the voice server through squawkbox, but when I type in the ip of the Oceania server and hit search in fs2004, nothing comes up under the list. Please someone help, I'm getting extremely frustrated. I have been able to connect to other multiplayer servers but not this one.

Please help

Thanks

Nik

there is a difference to connect to VATSIM voice-server and VATSIM data-server.

ref: www.vatsim.net -> who's on line

OCEANIA data-server is: 202.45.127.66

Oceania voice server is: rw1.vatpac.org (IP not printed)

you can NOT select or enter any name/adress to voice-server, this is only made internee by squawkbox (SB3) automatical AFTER you have connect to data-server and select a valid radio-frequency.

you connect to VATSIM by SB3, NOT by FS2004. VATSIM are not a Microsoft Multiplayer network.

select a data-server from the list in SB3. if you have no server available in the list, enter 202.45.127.66 or try any other IP-number you find at www.vatsim.net -> who's on line . the list in SB3 should update automatically once after you have connect successfully.

the connection SB3 to FS2004 should occure automatically via FSUIPC (you should no need to care). In addition SB3 should automatically connect to FS2004 Mulitiplayer to make it able to view VATSIM aircraft only, not for the main connection.

also note that all VATSIM data-server are equalent, you connect to one world only. there are only a small latancy difference if you connect to a server far from your physical location.

"i keep getting a black screen when i run sb3"

this indicate a fatal problem that some people do have in FS with modules include SB3.

you may try different setup to find out.

- router, select UPnP disable (always leave this disable)

- run FS in window-mode (not full screen) to easy se Windows-messages.

- run SB3 external from program-menu, not from the FS module menu.

- uninstall antivirus (make sure you have firewall, router or XP default firewall)

- uninstall other unnecessary (or all) FS-addon.

- try use FSInn instead of SB3.

Tell what connect-progress SB3 is in before crash (SB3 left-bottom) ?
