Kristopher Doyon 1010353 Posted May 21, 2007 at 06:05 PM Posted May 21, 2007 at 06:05 PM I was wondering how I should go about receiving one on one ATC training. I am pretty familiar with VATSIM, I used to fly on it and took a break, and I've decided to come back. I've done some basic ATC in the past, but I was wondering if any one on one ATC training is given, so that I can learn more in depth and how to use ASRC. Thanks. Ian Elchitz 810151 Posted May 21, 2007 at 09:00 PM Posted May 21, 2007 at 09:00 PM Hi Kris, Once you p[Mod - Happy Thoughts] the basic ATC exam you will get promoted to Student 1 status. At that point if you apply to the US Division you can get yourself [Mod - Happy Thoughts]igned to a specific ARTCC. Your training for things like ASRC/VRC and lots of other things begins once you arrive at your "facility". Hope that helps. Andrew Rogers 913862 Posted May 21, 2007 at 09:14 PM Posted May 21, 2007 at 09:14 PM Ian You got it backwards, once you join the USA division you will be [Mod - Happy Thoughts]igned the Basic exam. once you p[Mod - Happy Thoughts] you will be promoted to Student one and be moved to a Facility. once you get to the facility you will begin your formal training. Ian Elchitz 810151 Posted June 9, 2007 at 04:08 AM Posted June 9, 2007 at 04:08 AM Honestly - the process is confusing. I know that people are constantly trying to make it easier, it still seems complicated to me. Last week I spent an hour trying to explain it to a guy I was chatting with. I'm not saying that I have a solution or that someone is doing a bad job, just that I find it confusing.
