And i fly all ready but AVC connect is not!!! The message is "Your callsign was not found! Trent Hopkinson Posted February 21, 2005 at 12:22 PM Posted February 21, 2005 at 12:22 PM When you log onto vatsim you have an Aircraft callsign (ie AAL220) On AVC you need to set "Pilot Callsign" on the Connection Tab to be the same as your callsign logged into Vatsim (ie AAL220). If the callsign here is different to the callsign you have logged into Vatsim with it will not connect to Voice. Secondly, in the Pilot Info tab, you need to have your Vatsim ID and P[Mod - Happy Thoughts]word entered into the appropriate box, and also you need to make the "Vatsim Authentication Server" set to the same Vatsim Server you have connected Squawkbox to. When all these 4 things allign with your login on squawkbox, AVC will let you in. The reason this is the case is that in the bad old days, we didn't have any authentication at all and anyone could join any room, regardless if they were logged in or not. Some people abused this privelage and used to join Controller frequencys and shout obcenities and abuse at everyone on the frequency. I encountered a few examples of this myself, mostly during larger flyins. It was disturbing and also imbarrising to have the speakers suddenly loudly utter expletives in some squeaky teenager's voice, overmodulated and sounding like a part-spastic. The Login system with AVC is the way we have dealt with the problem till now. SB3 may deal with it in another way again. Hi Trent, that is actually not true, you can use any server you like for authentication purposes. It doesn´t necessarily have to be the same as the one you connected Squawkbox to.
