Robert Chapin 998334 Posted June 4, 2007 at 09:34 PM Posted June 4, 2007 at 09:34 PM Keith, do you know how I should proceed as well? The pick_artcc page tells me to use the transfer page and the train page tells me my name is missing.
Keith Smith Posted June 4, 2007 at 11:39 PM Posted June 4, 2007 at 11:39 PM Robert, If it's telling you to use the xfer form, you must already be a member of an ARTCC. You said the 'train' page says your name is missing. Did you try the ARTCC Transfer Form, available on the left side of the VATUSA site?

Robert Chapin 998334 Posted June 5, 2007 at 01:58 AM Posted June 5, 2007 at 01:58 AM Okay. "Your request to transfer to a new ARTCC is now being processed. Transfer to a new ARTCC requires the approval of the Chief of your new, requested ARTCC. This process normally does takes three business days to be completed." And the confirmation email says, "This is to confirm your request to transfer from the Training Academy - Removed ARTCC to the Cleveland ARTCC." Whatever that means! Mark Brummett Posted June 7, 2007 at 11:37 PM Posted June 7, 2007 at 11:37 PM And please also keep in mind that the ATMs and DATMs are real people; I know my ATM is on vacation at this very moment, and sometimes the DATM does not have the means to complete the transfer. Why not? If the ATM is on vacation, isn't that what the DATM is there for? The ATM should give his DATM all the tools necessary to fulfill the daily tasks of the ATM while he's away. I'm not saying he should give the DATM all of the responsibilities of the ATM, only those necessary for the mundane day-to-day operations, like transfer application processing. I'm just trying to give a helpful suggestion, so if my tone seems confrontational, please don't take it that way.

Transferring requires access to a secure website that the DATM sometimes is not privy to, if that answers your question. I was always a little leery of giving out the p[Mod - Happy Thoughts]word since instructions stated (at least when I was ATM) in the email with the p[Mod - Happy Thoughts]word to not give it out. That may or may not have changed since then. Mark Brummett Website owner, http://www.zkcartcc.org ZKC Events Co-ordinator
Robert Chapin 998334 Posted June 8, 2007 at 07:00 PM Posted June 8, 2007 at 07:00 PM I got in touch with the DATM through www.zobartcc.org/smf/ We seem to be on track now. Thanks for the guidance. fyi there were two problems we had to work out. #1 The transfer system rejected my email address when the local part contained "vatsim". #2 The other errors at the train.vatusa.org website seem to be moot because I don't need to use that website now. Both of these lead to some confusion and maybe this feedback will be helpful. Enjoy
