Koen Lauwaet 923049 Posted February 21, 2005 at 12:37 PM Posted February 21, 2005 at 12:37 PM I have the following problem : I startup SBRelay, FS2004 in multiplayer,SBHost.exe and Squawbox. File flightplan out of Stansted to Brussels. Put aircraft on ramp in Stansted. Connect using UKserver, squack mode C and resent flightplan. Can talk to Essex radar (type messages), he does not however get me on his screen. Tried disconnecting and reconnecting on same server, other server, disabled zonealarm. Even got airborne and flew around in his sector. No joy. Any ideas....? Had the same problem yesterday in Kansas City, US. I am new to Vatsim and up to now have not been able yet to fly around under radar control, only messaging. Hope you can help me out. Koen
Andre Koch 852831 Posted February 21, 2005 at 12:45 PM Posted February 21, 2005 at 12:45 PM Hi Koen, what country are you from, or rather, what country setting does your OS use ([Mod - Happy Thoughts]uming it is Windows XP)? There is a known bug which has to do with the decimal designator being a comma (,) in most of the world (basically everyone who uses the metric system), and being a point (.) in the US. Since basically everything that has to do with the FS is based on american systems, the rest of the world needs to adjust. This bug causes your aircraft to appear some 40 odd miles away from your actual position on the radar scope of the controller, which may be enough for some controllers to not be able to find you anymore. This is especially true for Ground or Tower controllers. Anyway... you should try switching the decimal designator in your Windows setting from the default comma to the american point and see if that solves your problem. Trent Hopkinson Posted February 22, 2005 at 01:07 AM Posted February 22, 2005 at 01:07 AM If Servinfo shows you in Africa somewhere (Accra FIR/DGAC) then I believe it has something to do with FSUIPC not being registered to Squawkbox properly.
