AVEX Backgroud:

AVEX is an international exhibition that will take place in Sharm El Sheikh on Wednesday 23rd of February 2005.

The exhibition will be for civil aircrafts as well as all equipment, and accessories related to the aviation industry.

AVEX will be a fertile atmosphere for doing business and pleasure; through conferences, ground exhibition, seminars, air show events and visiting touristic locations.

Sharm El Sheikh:

Sharm el-Sheikh is one of the most accessible and developed tourist resort communities on the Sinai Peninsula.

All around are Bedouins, colorful tents, mountains and sea.

The region of Sharm El Sheikh is actually a series of bays with innumerable and extraordinary coral reefs. It is located on the east shore at the southernmost tip of the Sinai Peninsula.

VATSIM Pilots are invited to join us celebrating this special middle eastern aviation exhibition as we plan to provide full ATC at Sharm El Sheikh Airport (HESH).

Event is scheduled for this Thursday, 24th February 2005 . Starting 1800Z untill midnight!

Plan your long flight between egypt and europe or south africa, or make it a short hop to one of our great neighbour countries: Israel, Cyprus, Turkey and Greece.

Or event better, make it a domestic flight inside egypt for a change!

It looks like I missed your ATC coverage. I am sitting at HESH for a while now. No ATC in HECC airspace and not an aircraft in sight. Do I have the wrong date or time. Feb 24 - 2130Z

It might even be my fault Mike - I got stuck with my car with engine problems (mayday mayday mayday), had to fix it all day, came back and fell asleep at 1800 local till the next morning .

I was supposed to be there to do some ATC

Well, I must say this event has been affected by real life reasons which prevented us from doing it as planned

 

Me personally had some backache during the previous days which affected my ability to organize the event more than that.

So we finally got online at about 1900z and gave ATC services to few flights until about 2100z after which I couldn't continue and left for some rest.

 

Sorry for how things ended. Promise you a better event very soon!
