Brian Ethington 814407 Posted February 21, 2005 at 04:37 PM Posted February 21, 2005 at 04:37 PM I did a search and didn't find a hit, but knew this would be the place to ask. After firing up SBRelay, joining the multiplayer session, opening the HostSB.dll module, then attaching to Squawkbox (prior to connecting to the Vatsim Network), going from maximized to full screen causes the flight simulator to hang. I've tried rebooting and the general troubleshooting that any technical analyst should. The only way I can prevent the hangs is to use a set of keystrokes to launch SB once everything else is up and FS is in full screen mode. No problems after that. Hardware: Dell Dimension 4700 2.8 Hyperthreaded PIV 128MB On board graphics, using the Intel driver 512MB RAM etc, etc. Thanks in advance for any help. Lennart Vedin Posted February 21, 2005 at 06:50 PM Posted February 21, 2005 at 06:50 PM > opening the HostSB.dll module Don't know if I can help with your problem to use FS in full screen, HostSB.dll might cause this problem as it cause other problem for some people. It might be not much you can do to make HostSB.dll run proper on your computer. If so you can't run FS in full screen. See subject 4. Squawkbox "SB Host.exe". Troubleshooting at http://forums.vatsim.net/viewtopic.php?p=2262#2262 However you might give FS9.1 (update) a try if you now have FS9 . / Lennart Vedin /

tom van der elst Posted February 22, 2005 at 01:37 PM Posted February 22, 2005 at 01:37 PM also, i've had that, until i started my sim in a window. i used to start full-screen,then alt-enter out for sb,causing fs to hang. there were two workarounds for me: 1:change resolution, then change back to normal 2:start fs in windowed mode. starting fs in windowed mode solved all my troubles. took a while to remember to alt-enter into a window before closing fs,but i now never suffer hangs. (knock on wood) cheers Tom.
David Voogd 857885 Posted February 22, 2005 at 09:10 PM Posted February 22, 2005 at 09:10 PM I always use FS in Windowed mode, it's more stable that way, esp for running SB and FSNav on the second monitor. David V
