Due to its popularity, this year's 8th annual Tea Party will once again be combined with a day of Airport Poker. Over 24 Virtual Boston ARTCC controllers from around the world will be getting together in person in Nashua, NH (the same city Boston Center is located in) to staff the ARTCC on Saturday, July 14th from 1:00 PM EDT (1700z) to 6:00 PM EDT (2200z). We won't be dumping any tea, but we'll be running an exciting game of Airport Poker to dump prizes on the winners! This "admirable" gathering of controllers would make John Adams flip over in his grave. Pilots are guaranteed to have fun on what should be a very busy day in Boston! Pilots who plan to fly in the Boston ARTCC airspace during the event are encouraged (not required) to use the VATUSA Online Reservation System (remember to use GMT, or Zulu, time to file). This will allow us to better plan our staffing and position [Mod - Happy Thoughts]ignments prior to the event. On the day of the event you are encouraged to prefile using the VATSIM Pre-Filing System. And that's not all! The Airport Poker winners will receive special prizes from the Boston ARTCC. Get ready for a fun day of flying with some of the best controllers on VATSIM! Additional surprises to be revealed over the next few weeks prior to the event. On behalf of the VATUSA Boston ARTCC, we look forward to seeing your target on our scopes! Regards, "HN"

Jason Herman 911755 Posted July 23, 2007 at 01:25 PM Author Posted July 23, 2007 at 01:25 PM On behalf of the vZBW ARTCC, I'd like to thank all of the pilots and controllers who supported this event, the most successful Boston Tea Party yet. In just under 5.5 hours, we saw close to 550 operations in our airspace which certainly wouldn't be possible without the loyal pilots, controllers, and administrators who make this network run. A big thanks to Dave Norris who programmed a TSD system for us in the matter of days and all 22 controllers who showed up in Nashua, NH to control. Congrats to the 2007 Boston Tea Party Airport Poker Winners: #1 Kyle Weber #2 Lance Williams #3 Brian Derx #4 Matthew Oliver #5 Brian Sperduto #6 Vinny Sanil #7 Pete Holske #8 Adam Wade To view pictures from the 8th Annual Boston Tea Party including events preceding and following the event, checkout the 2007 Boston Tea Party gallery located on our website. Thanks again and we hope to see you next year for the 9th Annual Boston Tea Party (2008). Regards, "HN"
