Dennis Mangold 973237 Posted July 6, 2007 at 08:14 PM Posted July 6, 2007 at 08:14 PM Hello everyone. Just a short question that I couldn't find answered in other threads: Where can I find out what all the different data in the Shift+Z setting of FS9 (where the framerate is shown) mean? I am especially interested to find out what the last number (labeled "V" and given in percent) means. Thanks a million! Dennis
Paul O'Donnell 969350 Posted July 6, 2007 at 09:14 PM Posted July 6, 2007 at 09:14 PM I don't recall seeing a V. But the percentage bit is the percentage of fuel on board. Regards, Paul O'Donnell SINvACC - INS/CTR+ www.sinvacc.net
Dennis Mangold 973237 Posted July 6, 2007 at 10:28 PM Author Posted July 6, 2007 at 10:28 PM Hello Paul. Thanks for the reply, but that's not the one I meant. There are actually two lines available: The upper one gives coordinates, altitude, heading, speed and wind. The lower one gives the frames/sec, the G-forces, and then some figures I can't connect to their purpose: The first one seems to be 100 all the time, then there are three groups of four digits each in square brackets which seem to change]. Then, there comes a another group of four digits in <> and then there is "V:" with a percentage. I suspect it has something to do with the internet connection or multiplayer. It can go above 100% and it has some connection to my loss of framerate: Frames go down when the number goes up... Regards, Dennis
Paul O'Donnell 969350 Posted July 7, 2007 at 12:06 AM Posted July 7, 2007 at 12:06 AM Hi Dennis, In that case, I'm not too sure. I only recall the fuel percentage being on the far right of the bottom line. To find out I would need to fire up FS but I'm currently watching a movie. If no-one else is able to help then I'll let you know tomorrow once I load up FS for a flight. Jim Karn 850752 Posted July 7, 2007 at 02:12 AM Posted July 7, 2007 at 02:12 AM Dennis, Did you alter your fsx.cfg to add AverageFrameRate to the TextInfo section? Regards, Jim Karn
Dennis Mangold 973237 Posted July 7, 2007 at 04:37 AM Author Posted July 7, 2007 at 04:37 AM Hi Jim! I have FS9; There is no such thing as a FSX.cfg; the only file I could find is called FS2000.cfg. And anyway: I wouldn't know what to alter. The problem is that it only seems to occur in online flight... Regards, Dennis
Dennis Mangold 973237 Posted July 12, 2007 at 06:38 AM Author Posted July 12, 2007 at 06:38 AM Jim, I have now found out (shame on me) that I have indeed amended that display with the help of a little programme. The groups of digits in the square brackets are the lowest, the highest and the average framerate during that particular flight. Unfortunately, not even the author of that little programme has yet found out what that ominous "V"-number means. But it has definitely been added by that programme; in the standard version, the only percentage value given is - as Paul has correctly pointed out - the fuel indicator.
