Michael Sats 1020079 Posted July 29, 2007 at 05:45 AM Posted July 29, 2007 at 05:45 AM I use FSX (SP1) daily, and am a real world pilot. I just found out about vatsim and want to join the community. After reading the PRC, the notams, and the rest of the software info, I attempted to DL Copilot (first) and then FSn. After install, I went to reload my FSX and it starts to load and then bounces me out of FSX. I have no add ons loaded. I tried uninstalling FSX and starting from scratch and the same thing happens. I have Win XP Pro, 4 gig mem, an ATI 9200 video card, 200 gig hd, intel pentium 4 processor, and a 19" flat screen by Acer. Any ideas why I can't load FSX (at all: It starts to load and bounces me out in about 3 seconds) with Copilot and FSn installed? BTW: As mentioned, I use FSX everyday and am also a member of the FS-MP network and have no issues with FSX previous to the install of the FSn/copilot software. Indeed, I can only use my FSX (SP1) after I completely uninstall FSN and Copilot. Michael C96729 Real world Private pilot I'd rather be flying my Cessna than working! Larry James 901346 Posted July 29, 2007 at 08:30 AM Posted July 29, 2007 at 08:30 AM Did you follow the steps in the Announcement, "Installing FSInn"? This is the first post in the FSInn Help forum section. The first few lines refers to installing the latest, 1.3 version of FSInn. -- L. James -- L. D. Michael Sats 1020079 Posted July 29, 2007 at 08:38 AM Author Posted July 29, 2007 at 08:38 AM Yes, I followed all the instructions as noted in the PRC, and now, with .3, I was indeed able to load and start up my FSX. However, I am very confused: As mentioned, I loaded Copilot and FSn. Then I loaded the "add on" in FSX, and did the set up as per the tutorial. Yet, I cannot see anyone else flying (where is everyone) and cannot hear anyone, and no one responds to my chats (says local). How do I find the Vatsim session on multiplayer for FSX? I can't see any vatsim session, and I can't find anywhere for an IP to log in directly. What is the "next step?" In addition, when using my right cntl key for Team speak, I speak, but no one responds. I tried that on ALL the possible servers in the setup (USA, UK, Etc.) Please help!! Michael C96729 Real world private pilot It's not clear to me that you're following the Announcement or trying to follow the outdated PRC. I'm sorry for the confusion. Hopefully the PRC will be updated soon. Teamspeak isn't referenced in either the PRC or the announcement. You can use Teamspeak for your private use, but it's not official recognized VATSIM software, and will not [Mod - Happy Thoughts]ist you with ATC. Was there traffic at the airport where you were parked? You can use Servinfo (instructions are in the PRC software section) to locate traffic and choose one of those airports to park. Check out the section in the PRC, http://usa-w.vatsim.net/prc/VPTPublic/122/122a/122a.htm (First Flight on VATSIM) after you pick out an airport using Servinfo. If Servinfo shows traffic in that area, you tune your cockpit's radio to the ATC's frequency, you can get some confirmation from the controller if there's other traffic. Also click on the Inn Radar and see what that shows. -- L. James -- L. D. Jehtie Slater 1002007 Posted August 31, 2007 at 12:45 AM Posted August 31, 2007 at 12:45 AM G'day! I'm not sure whether you have this sorted, but I don't think there is a VATSIM multiplayer room. After you create your 'FREE FLIGHT' to spawn in a parking area, simply connect to VATSIM via the 'ADD-ON'. File yourself a flight plan on VATSIM.NET under PILOT RESOURCES and your ready to go. It's a necessity almost to have your charts ready for the particular flight so that you can tune into controller frequencies, VOR's, DME's, ILS's etc. It might take you a litte while to work it all out if your new to it but it's definitely worth the trouble. Ensure that you're familiar with your aircraft that your flying, the basic flight rules and procedures; the rest will come as no one expects you to be perfect. Controllers are very helpful as well and are ready to correct your radio communications if things aren't too busy. Feel free to ask me any more questions on here if you like, I'm on here quite often. Disregard if you have this sorted already. Happy flying. Jet Slater _________
