Ilan Jonas 860311 Posted July 29, 2007 at 06:11 PM Posted July 29, 2007 at 06:11 PM (edited) Hello everyone, As life goes on, VATAME is going through a big change. My friend and deputy, Mr, Shadi Abo Ahmad has resigned due to lack of time. Shadi has to invest his spare time in other aspects of the good life, and out of responsibility and caring for the region he asked me to be replaced. The contribution Shadi gave to the region is hard to describe in words. When I first came to Vatsim, the whole region was empty, except for one guy - Shadi (well actually there was another great guy, Ben Bogin but why disturb a good story hehe). Shadi was the living spirit in building the region from scratch, to the place we are today. I can actually write a book about Shadi's initiatives and devoted work, but I'll just summarize saying that I would have never done it without him. I personally thank you my friend - it has always been a pleasure working with you and I wish you best of luck and joy in everything you do, InshaAllah. I am a man who hates mixing his drinks, so the announcement about the new nominations will come in another thread Blue skies, Ilan Edited April 16, 2008 at 06:19 AM by Guest Ilan Jonas Senior Instructor-I3 Former Vatsim Africa/Middle East Region Director(2004-2012) http://www.vatame.net

Ali Abou-Zeid Posted September 22, 2007 at 08:12 AM Posted September 22, 2007 at 08:12 AM Shadi, you know I was abroad, and this came as shocking news for me. I was like "WHAAAAAAAAAAt??? NOWAY! HOW COULD THIS HAPPEN?" But, I know how real life takes us out of our hobby at times. So many words have been said, but, they're never enough. Ilan, has almost my same story, the first Arabic name I found on VATSIM while just browsing around ServInfo was Shadi's. I quickly joined in as observer and talked to him, explaining my intentions, and how he could help. From there, Egypt VACC started to be a reality, but just on paper, and dummy designs on computers. As time p[Mod - Happy Thoughts]ed by, and Shadi helped, helped, and still helped. Egypt VACC came to life and it is what it is today. Thanks a lot Shadi, for everything. I can write a book as Ilan's, and only just for Egypt VACC. Let alone, VATAME. Good luck in everything, man! Happy Landings! Ali Abou-Zeid What Centreline??
