The reason is you must HOLD down the keyboard key that you use as a PTT in VRC UNTIL you push the stop record button. BOTH for the key press sequence AND key release sequence. I was pressing the key down and releasing it BEFORE clicking on the stop record button both times. I realized the problem was not with VRC but rather it was somewhere in the foot pedal control panel and being such, might not belong on the VRC help forum. With all the flaming that goes on, I really did not want to get chastized for posting to the wrong forum. Hope the opening paragraph helped.
