Shantanu Chand 946363 Posted August 6, 2007 at 02:45 PM Posted August 6, 2007 at 02:45 PM Since I consider myself the first member on VATINDIA I thought it would be fitting that I give a thank you speech to all who made VATINDIA the 5th Division of VATASIA! Firstly I would like to thank Richard Jenkins ( RJ), the Board of Governors and the Hit Squad for even considering to develop India as a division over all the other nations. Thank you once again RJ for sitting on the scopes endlessly as VABF_CTR to bring in traffic in the initial stages! I would like to give a huge and befitting round of applause to Jeff Clark, Terry Scanlan and Norman Blackburn who trained us and brought us up to where we are today. They put in many hours of research and spent even more time trying to explain to us the art of controlling. I thank Jeff Turner, Alberto Molteni, Krzysztof Szerszen, Javier Larroulet, Rich Lee, Steven Cullen, Stephen Naughton, Peter Nielsen ,Rey Lopez, Troy Autry III, Luca Vetturi and Brian Beach for all the behind the scenes work and also controlling here in India till there was awareness that this place existed. They all worked exceptionally hard in doing research and bringing about the charts, POF and sector files up to date. I would definitely like to thank Alex Stjepanovic, Travis Watson, Jamal Muhammad, Umair Saleem, Paul O'Donnell and Daniel Doorgakant who as visiting controllers have also contributed to the success of many events in the past. Alex gets a special mention as he trained alongside me and since has been a pillar of strength and support by providing us new sector files, working on the AFCADs and just generally doing everything possible. I take this moment to also thank all the local Indian controllers, Rohit Dalaya, Sanket More, Karan Singh, Sidhant Shah, Sanjay Dutt ( Sectors too), Vincent Thomas and Mahesh Acharya who stood by us throughout the training period and on to making this division a very successful one. I have to thank all the pilots and airlines who have visited India in the last one year. A big thank you to Tony Forrest of Noble air for attending every fly in with his pilots at Noble Air. I also thank Robert Harris for visiting us ever so often. I must thank Noble Air, East West Airlines , Delta, American Flight Airways, Pacific Airlines, the APG Group, Malev and Qantas for flying through and organizing events in India I would like to thank Thomas Snoeck, Rob Scott, Rick Martin and all the top guys at APG Group for being the first Virtual Airline to support VATINDIA from the very day it took off and they even created an Indian Hub to support VATINDIA. Thank you Rahul Rasquinha for creating Jet Airways Virtual and adding traffic in India. I have no words to say...Deepan Mehta has been the leading force in developing this division. He has worked hard making the website, the VAT indicators, training the staff and practically everything else. Thanks buddy it has been great working with you and look forward to taking this division up by leaps and bounds. A big thanks to William Woo and all the other great friends over at VATASIA. Thanks for "signing us off" and making India your 5th Division. We look forward to a great partnership in future! Finally, but definitely not to be forgotten...all the people who have worked behind the scenes to make this happen. I thank you all. We look forward to a great future and this can only be done with all the help, support and good wishes of all the above and everyone on VATSIM. To celebrate this great Honour we at VATINDIA invite you all to join us on the 15th of August 2007, the 60th year of Indian Independence, for a flight from Mumbai ( VABB) to New Delhi ( VIDP) the National Capital.
