Multiplayer connect problem

Recommended Posts

I have recently changed my firewall to Zone Alarm from Sygate as the latter had an update that appeared to stop me getting on line. I now seem to have a problem getting p[Mod - Happy Thoughts]ed the multilayer connect in FS2004. This doesnt find my session after I start SB Relay even when I type in 127.0.0.1. Any thoughts anyone?

> Try disbaling the firewall completley

I shuld never do this. In one minute I get virus.

Thats the problem, to try out if the issue is a firewall-issue.

Maybe you can disconnect the network cable while doing this. But I understand your concern, I'm also very careful to disconnect firewall.

Hi,

I understand your concerns It is highly unlikely that, in the very short time that it will take to conduct this test, you will be infected. As long as you aren't browsing the web or reading your emails at the same time, you will be fine.

As for hackers, well, studies show that it is a minimum of 8 minutes before an open PC is attacked. This is plenty of time to conduct the test

Won't he lose the internet connection when he does that?

I'd check that study again... that looks more like the avarage time before you get any kind of attack...

there's no minimum to the worst possibility... murphy docet

That figure is based on a study made by independent security experts.

8 minutes was the shortest time that it took before any computer (that was physically broadcasting its ports out to the open world) was compromised.

It was out of 100 and something computers, all over the world.
