Dave Wild Posted March 8, 2005 at 10:12 PM Posted March 8, 2005 at 10:12 PM The best tip I can give you Jeroen is visit the Pilot Resource Center and read all you can and then put it into practice. http://vatsim.net/prc Three 'tricks' DON'T park on a runway or taxiway and then connect to VATSIM, make sure you are somewhere on the ramp. Spend some time at an active airport and monitor the radio 'chatter', it will give you an idea of how to do it. Make sure you park up out of the way, when you file your flight plan in SB make departure and destination airport the same. In the FP remarks box indicate that you are new and monitoring the radios and that you do not intend to fly. E.G. "Newbie monitoring radio. No flight" When you do fly for your first few times state in the FP remarks box that you are new then controllers will be more willing to help you, but don't try this at a very busy airport or during a major fly-in. Get used to the environment and enjoy the experience. Rgds
