Steven Bryce Posted August 29, 2007 at 02:59 PM Posted August 29, 2007 at 02:59 PM Hello All Emirates Vacc will he host an event on Sunday 16th September. We would like to ask, Mumbai, Tehran and Bahrain controllers to participate also as i have called the event 'Middle East Madness' Basically the concept is for pilots to fly between Bahrain, Dubai, Bombay and Tehran as many times as they like in the alocated event time. here is the twist, The more time pilots use their callsign the more chances they will have to win. (Like a lottery really) More flights= better chance to win. All callsiigns will be put into a 'hat' and the winner will be chose at random. I have contacted Fly Tampa about them being sponsers of the event and have asked that our winning pilot recieves a free copy of Fly Tampa Dubai. I have not heard back yet as i only contacted them yesterday but I hope this would be a posibility. Are you guys up for this then? Cheers Cheers Steve Emirates VACC S3

Tony Kovacs 958372 Posted September 1, 2007 at 10:56 PM Posted September 1, 2007 at 10:56 PM I don't undesrtand how these prizes will be won. Do you have to always use the same callsign, is there a minimum distance or time between airports, and are there only certain airports that you can fly too? Steven Bryce Posted September 2, 2007 at 02:22 AM Author Posted September 2, 2007 at 02:22 AM The final preparations for the event will be made this week and the official proceedures will be posted by this coming thursday: basically pilots will have to use the same callsign there are three airports involved: Dubai Bahrain Shiraz (Iran) Pilots can fly between all airports in the event time (12:00z-18:00z) Pilots MUST make one takeoff and Landing at each Airport. Pilots get 5 points for takeoff, 5 points for landing and 10 points for making a complete flight. (So a total of 20 points are available for each flight) The reason for not using a different callsign is to keep pilots connected so we can collate all the flight data. NO TIME ACCELERATION, SUPERSONIC FLIGHT OR MILITARY OR EXECUTIVE JETS MAY BE USED. ONLY JETLINERS OR PROPS. ANYONE FOUND TO BE CHEATING WILL BE DISQUALIFIED. The pilots with the most points (if the same) will be put into a hat and the three prizes will be awarded to the winners. ALL winners will be contacted and will need to leave a VALID email and name to myself and John Jones who will then forward it to the relevant company to claim you, your prize. ALL pilots are welcome to fly EVEN if they are not participating in the event. We hope you all have a great time flying in the gulf. As i said the final details will be released this coming week. John Jones 972609 Posted September 2, 2007 at 09:28 AM Posted September 2, 2007 at 09:28 AM Hello Roy, The answer to your question is NO !! If you land at Bahrain for example you have to depart from there for your next Flight. Also, there will be no Touch and Go's. You have to taxi to stand/gate and park. Watch this forum for all the final details. Best Regards John Jones John Jones

Paul Brooman 924429 Posted September 3, 2007 at 06:09 AM Posted September 3, 2007 at 06:09 AM can i suggest that there is a banner made for this event to advertise ASAP and its put up on the main VATSIM website once again, ASAP. I have noticed that some events only get any notice about 2 or even a day before the event which dosen't allow anyone to plan really. Not a critism, just an observation!
