Jody Turner 1018734 Posted September 2, 2007 at 03:15 PM Posted September 2, 2007 at 03:15 PM Well, I'm new to flying and when I configure my autopilot it doesn't fly the route. Like in Toronto yesterday I departed with this route "YCF YOW", which is eastbound, I departed runway 33R, which points to the north, it didn't take me to my route, it took me past YEE VOR, which is farther north. So I wondered how to make it just use my route and follow it, do I have to specify airways, and an arrival route. Oh, and also when the autopilot is climbing altitude it usually stalls, and last question, when I change to APP and select NAV instead of GPS it just goes to the localizer, it doesn't go around and try to land. Those are three problems, any help is appreciated. Jody Turner - I1 Toronto FIR - Facility Engineer
Paul Heaney 879309 Posted September 2, 2007 at 03:24 PM Posted September 2, 2007 at 03:24 PM you'll need to supply more information. Such as what aircraft and how your setting the autopilot.
Jody Turner 1018734 Posted September 2, 2007 at 07:00 PM Author Posted September 2, 2007 at 07:00 PM Well I talked to a friend of mine and he said I needed to program the waypoint, but the problem is in the GPS, I goto the Direct to and it has flashed underscores, but I can't type anywhere. Oh, and it's a Boeing 747-400, and I set it using GPS, with the NAV and ALT buttons, for ISL Approach I used the NAV, with the APP button.
