Brian Ratledge 962606 Posted September 18, 2007 at 05:12 AM Posted September 18, 2007 at 05:12 AM I think something that should be considered to increase pilot proficiency are pilot awards for filing and flying correctly. A simple certificate signed by staff of the ARTCC would suffice. Consider the popularity of ZLA pilot certs where a pilot has something to base his/her efforts on. I suggest a pilot of the month and then those pilots could be nominated for pilot of the year for that ARTCC. Then on to VATUSA and all of VATSIM. Just a thought. Clemens Martin Posted September 18, 2007 at 08:11 AM Posted September 18, 2007 at 08:11 AM Howdy Brian, a very good thought, but you are not the 1st person thinking about things like that... the technical implementation is not so easy as it looks like i guess. But.. did you check out the frequent fliers program already... fno.vatusa.net its something like that a little bit. cya, Clem AvA AAL630 vUSAF 6027 ZMP C1 .... Brian Ratledge 962606 Posted September 18, 2007 at 06:04 PM Author Posted September 18, 2007 at 06:04 PM I was looking for a quality award as opposed to a quantity award. Something to reward a pilot that files valid flight plans and then flies them correctly on a regular basis. I think it wouldnt be too much trouble for the center controllers in each ARTCC to vote on. These pilots should ring a bell with the controllers as they fly regularly. ZLA Director of Pilot Relations
